About Me
Hi, I'm Jane
I am a professionally qualified and accredited, psychotherapeutic counsellor, offering individual and couples counselling to adults over the age of 18.
I am registered with NCPS (National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society), UKATA (United Kingdom Association of Transactional Analysis) and EATA (European Association Transactional Analysis).
I am trained to work with people experiencing a wide range of difficulties including anxiety, depression, loss and bereavement, relationship concerns, self-esteem, confidence issues and personal development and growth. I have a specific interest in working with anxiety, depression and bereavement and am particularly interested in how the body and mind work together.
I have a warm and open style of working and my general approach, as a therapist, is to take an active part in our work together. This means, sometimes I will ask you questions, I will share my reflections, I will offer my interpretations and sometimes I will share theory with you. I am passionate about working as a therapist and feel strongly that although therapy can be challenging at times, it can also be emotionally empowering and motivating.
I am trained and work within a framework called Transactional Analysis (TA) and also draw on other methods of working including CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), solution-focused coaching and mindfulness depending on an individuals’ needs.

Additionally, I am a qualified personal development coach and have been providing coaching to individuals in career development and work-related issues since 2014. I find this gives me the opportunity to offer solution focused coaching skills within my counselling work if appropriate.
In addition to working in private practice, I work for Mind, a National mental health charity and also have experience working in a busy South London counselling service and at St Catherines’ Hospice, Sussex.
I have 20 years health management experience working in the NHS at South London and Maudsley and Bromley NHS Trusts and within the charity sector for a mental health organisation based in the City. Within my management roles, I have experience of helping people with work-related stress in the workplace.
